Connections that Count: Ethical Leadership in Action

Gerhard is a science educator with a master’s degree in science and nearly two decades of experience teaching in leading boys’ boarding schools in South Africa and Canada. His work is grounded in the belief that excellence and belonging are mutually reinforcing, and that people thrive when they feel safe, valued, and inspired by positive role models. Drawing from Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, he cultivates environments where character formation, integrity, and healthy risk‑taking naturally lead to academic and personal growth. Gerhard is known for his authenticity, energy, and ability to connect deeply with adolescents, whether in the classroom, boarding house, or outdoors. His passion is helping students discover confidence, purpose, and self‑worth as they grow into fine people.
